I’ve created this fitness routine for myself so I have a plan to stick by.   If all goes well I’ll switch things up in a few months.  I plan on going 4-5 times a week, I’ve added day and evening routines to suit my schedule.  I’ll keep you posted and let you know how this is working for me.

Here’s todays workout of the day.  It’s was a really good and challenging at times but I felt really good when it was over.  My HRM watch calculated that I burned 880 calories 🙂

Upper Body Tabata Workout

Routine Structure
5 Minute Warm Up
12 Tabata Workout;
Upper Body Exercises (48 Minutes)
20 On 10 Off x 8 for four minutes total each

It’s 6 Days/2 Day Split Strength Training.  The 2 day split keeps it simple.

Mon/Wed/Fri – Upper Body & Back
Tue/Thur/Sat – Lower Body & Abs & Pilates
Cardio – Everyday

Upper Body & Back

Cardio:  Stairmill 30 min = 350 calories

Per Exercise: 4 Sets: 15 reps, 12 reps, 10 reps, 8 reps
Total Time: 60-90 min.

Machine Chest Fly 50 lb.
Seated Row 55 lb.

Seated Lat Pulldown  70 lb.
Chest Press 30 lb.
Hammer Front Pulldown 80 lb. (40 lb. x 2)

This week was my kids first week back at school and I was determined to make it to the gym.  I’d say it was a pretty good start, next week will be better.

I’ve been killing it this week in the gym.  Lately my typical day at the gym is:
Warm-Up:  Elliptical or Cross Trainer: 30-45 mins
Workout: Kettlebells 45 mins or Pilates Class 60-45 mins
Sometimes I do all three, like yesterday I did, Cross Trainer 30 mins, Kettlebells 30 mins & Pilates 45 mins.

*Funny Situation* Ya gotta love technology. Here’s what’s happening.  My elliptical needs repairs and the repair man is suppose to come late Friday, so no elliptical for me this week.  Then my computer crashed and I can’t get my Insanity DVD out of it, Grrrr!!!!!  so no Insanity for me lol.  Good thing I have my Kinect Biggest Loser workout CD.  Now if that fails me then I guess I can always do sit up and run up and down my stairs a 100 times.

First time trying this workout DVD:
I just finished the Beachbody Insanity Pure Cardio workout.  It’s definitely true to it’s name, in the warm up the instrustor was saying he was nervous about this workout hahaha.  I did my best to keep up and I had a good sweat going and heart pumping .
I did the whole workout which was 38 mins but I have no clue how many calories I burned.
